Guitar shielding is the process of reducing unwanted noise and electromagnetic interference (EMI) in electric guitars. This is achieved by applying conductive materials, such as copper or aluminum foil, or conductive paint, to the cavities of the guitar where the electronic components are housed. The purpose is to create a Faraday cage around the electronics, which helps to block external electromagnetic fields and reduce hum and buzz in the guitar’s output.
